The ship below is listed on Ancestry and has passenger records for 1959 travelling to Yemen, Bahrain, and Kenya:

Dilwara
Years in service: 1935-
Funnels: 1
Masts: 2
Aliases: Kuala Lumpur
Shipping line: British India Steam Navigation Co.
Ship description: Built by Barclay, Curle & Co., Glasgow, Scotland. Tonnage: 11,080. Dimensions: 496' x 63'. Twin-screw, 17 knots. Motorship. Two masts and one funnel.
History: Tonnage: Increased to 12,555. Passengers: 200. Vessel sold in 1960 to China Navigation Company to carry pilgrims. Renamed: Kuala Lumpur. Sister ship: Dunera. Note: Specially designed ships for transporting about 800 troops.

If they were military then the records wouldn't be in th Public domain as miltary movements would be secret .

Hi. Can anyone help please. I have ancestors who travelled from Southampton to Limassol on the ss Dilwara in 1959. I understand this was a troopship. They returned in 1963 on the Caledonian Star. Not sure if this was also a troopship. I have searched the outward passenger lists but had no joy. I can't search for the return journey as they only list up until 1960. Has anyone any ideas where I might be able to find their names in the lists for these ships please?

Not sure that this is the right board to leave this thread. If it isn't then can someone please point me in the right direction.
