It is clear from your responses that Mary Hamilton Young and Isobel Young were not sisters although in marrying the Anderson brothers they became sisters in law. Potty's information clearly shows that both women had different parents and that answers my basic question. Alviegal's note revealed an earlier generation of MHYoung's family - information which I didn't have. Also to Jacquiline - thank you for listing MHYoung's siblings(again, information I did not have). As you can see, I am a raw beginner in chasing up my forbears but really appreciate the assistance you have all given me.
