Jacqueline
I mean that in the case of a girl of such a young age the couple would surely be married by licence with consent of parents or at very least the Vicar would have marked her as a Minor on the marriage certificate.
I'm wondering if Mark got her age from the 1841 census in which case she could be 4 years older.

As I said, difficult to confirm a baptism for Sarah; here are just 2 and on the same day:

Sarah Taylor Baptism 10 Apr 1796 Rochdale, St Chad Abram,
Ann

Sarah Taylor Baptism 10 Apr 1796 Rochdale, St Chad Henry,
Hannah

There were 4 Sarah Taylors married in Rochdale in 1811 (two images for each on Ancestry - one under Lancashire marriages and one under Manchester marriages; the Manchester ones appear to be the original's with the Lancashire ones just being a list, so probably BT):

Manchester, England, Marriages and Banns, 1754-1930?

It would be difficult to tie up any baptisms with "your" Sarah.

Find.........in what sense?

Todmorden is right on the border between Lancs and Yorks, and people born there can be described as being born in either County, depending on preference

Beverley

Why would a marriage by Banns not have been possible?

Surely a Church marriage requires that Banns be called, unless a Licence is applied for

As posted by Sylvia above.

However I find it VERY unlikely that this is Sarah Taylor born in 1796/7 as she would be extremely young and would not have been married by banns.
