Thank you everyone for your help. Your all right and I don't think I'll ever find out because my great grandfather died before he could fulfill his promise to marry his pregnant girlfriend and my grandfather was born as an illegitimate.

Still not quite sure what you're saying.

Where was grandfather born?

If his mother didn't make any official claim on the father, you've no way of finding out who he was

And promises to return were made and broken over and over again

Are you trying to say that your grandfather's name was Jack Lang?

And that for some reason, you think that his father was someone with the surname Morris?

You need to be a bit clearer with the info you post

I cannot see how you can find that sort of info out...if you can find his army records it may say where he was and when...otherwise No

Well, my grandfather was born as an illegitimate child during ww1 and is there any way I can find out that he got his girlfriend in England pregnant. And my grandfathers father's details are left blank. I k ow that I have the right one, but I want to know if I can prove it via paperwork or military records.

The only place where I can find a Malcolm Morris who was Kia during ww1 and he medical corps is in Australia going by the name of Harry Malcolm Morris and on his birth certificate his name is Jack Lang and his occupation before the war was an artist. This does make sense because my Grandfather, mother and brother are really good at art. During the the world war he was probably on leave at of what I learn't about the army back then is the only place where soldiers could have some leave from active duty is England. Is there anyway I can find out what he did during his absence for active duty during ww1 I was told that he promised his pregnant girlfriend in EnglNd that after the war had ended he would return and marry her. Can anyone help me?
