I am unable to find the mother of the above named person. I am able to confirm the father as John Tennant. James Tennant 1749 Ingleton. Yorkshire married Alice Tomlin - Any help or advice much appreciated. Thanks

Look for a marriage for the father, having first looked for other possible children, to get an idea of when the marriage may have occurred.

Mothers were considered irrelevant back then.........
