Just sounding a note of caution..........

If you have tried all the methods, then are you saying that you have not been able to contact any living relatives?
We would not want to duplicate your research.
|
Thanks folks for all your responses but I understand all the genealogical methods and YES I have tried all the methods that have been suggested and a few that haven't.

Lewis Bayman probably married and had 4 sons, This is easy to find on free bmd. Subsequent marriages of children also appear. Then google searches and 192.com searches reveal various family members. Also on facebook. As you are a professional researcher, have you identified those people and attempted to contact them?
|
So the question is - have you identified any living relatives?
If so, have you looked to see if they are in any trees on here?
Have you purchased the death certificates of his children, to see who the informants are, who may be relatives?
Added: Geoffrey Bayman appears to be in a tree on here - have you tried to contact the tree owner?

Thanks to everyone who has so far responded. Unfortunately I already have the information offered.

Presumably you have looked to see if he had any descendants, but no-one on this site appears to have him in their tree, so perhaps your luck is not in.

Is this him? I expect you have these? Not about Box Hill, though. From the British Newspaper Archive, to which I don't have access:

I am a professional researcher working on the history of Box Hill village in Surrey, where in the 1920s a Mr. Percy A Bayman of Wanstead (and formerly West Ham) was a major land developer. Despite his being largely responsible for the present footprint of the village, very few records remain of him, or his companies - Suburban Developments (London) Ltd, or George E Gray Ltd. If any of his living relatives are able to advise me whether or not any accessible company or personal archives exist I would be extremely grateful. Even personal recollections or photos would help - just something to flesh out what is at present a very scant record of Mr Bayman's significant impact on the growth and development of Box Hill village. Thank you.
