Can anyone tell me where to find the military records for William Arthur Devereux Ward, born 1912 and living around Birmingham please? I'm particularly interested in knowing when he joined the army.

Thanks in advance.

Have a look here to see how to apply for his records:-

http://www.veterans-uk.info/pdfs/service_records/army_pack.pdf

Records for people who left the army after 1920 are still held by the MOD and are not online.

They will cost you £30 and take quite a few months to arrive. You have to send proof of your relationship with the deceased.

For background.........

Unless things have changed recently, only the next of kin can apply for service records.

And William had a son (born c1938) with his wife Lucie

You may find it useful to get a copy of William's death cert for the details of the informant, who may have been a relative

have you any info about when the mother of the twins died?

Who registered her death?
