patchem, I have used this site and I seem to just go around in circles with this! The problem is my grandfather was Charles Broughton, my great grandfather was William and I think my great great grandfather was Joseph. I was convinced that my ggg grandfather was Enoch broughton but I cannot seem to make any links and dates work, Charles and Martha had a son named Joseph who is also likely. The problem is I cannot make a connection between Joseph and Enoch. Nor can i find any other children for Charles and Martha. There are so many Broughtons, born around the same area at the same time!

I am trying to find out if Charles and Martha were the parents of my gg grandfather, Joseph Broughton. Joseph was born in 1820 in Wlmslow, Cheshire. I thought that his parents were Enoch and Elizabeth{Bower} but I seem to have reached a dead end. I think that Charles may have been born in 1794 or 95. I do not know martha's maiden name. I have found two other likely children for Charles and Martha. but the gap is too wide, they were born in1845 and 1847. I have found a mention of a Joseph Broughton being born to Charles and Martha but I cannot find out when they married, or if there were any other children. My g. grandfather was William Broughton and my grandfather was Charles broughton. Thanks Doreen H.
