Yes.

Which is why I think you may need the birth certificate of Edward.

Hi patchem

I did look on the census for 1911 and it came back as not found.

So have you tried to find Edward in 1911?

Do you intend to get his birth certificate for the name of his Mother?

Thanks.

Hi patchem and Mike.

William was Edwards father and on the marriage certificate dated 1927 William was deceased his occupation as far as i can make out was an Auger forger ?. there is an address on there to which im assuming is where Edward lived with his parents again its hard to make out the writing but it could possibly be 9 court 5 house and the road i cannot make out only that it ends in sop Sheffield. It was witnessed by a Harry Ashton so could probably have been Edwards brother?. Hope this all makes sense.

Edward could be the oldest son of William, or the youngest.

So William could be under 20 when Edward was born, or over 50 if a younger wife.

So William could be born from 1856 to 1886 (or before).

So we need the full information from the birth and marriage certificates.

Is William Ashton, Edward's father ?
If so...
What was his occupation on Edward's marriage certificate ?

Edward Ashton born 1906 in Linda's tree, in Sheffield.

So have you found Edward and William in the 1911 census?

Thank-you

Hi,

I am trying to find ancestors on my late mothers side. Unfortunately I have very little to go on I have a copy of my grandparents marriage certificate and my grandfathers name was William Ashton and I am assuming that he was born circa 1880 in Sheffield ?. My grandfathers name was Edward Ashton and he married Mary Thompson. Can anyone please help.

Kind Regards
