There is a Beatrice Violet SIM on electoral rolls in Corio Victoria from 1931-1936, then a Violet SIM 1949-63. A James SIM is also listed in Corio 1931-63 so it seems unlikely this is Jas snr if he died in 1941? Do you have his death cert?

At the same time, James & Drucilla SIM are located in Batman, Victoria 1936-68 then just Drucilla in Deakin 1972 and then Ballarat 1977-80.

Drucilla died in Ballarat in 1996 aged 91.

I see from a Google search that you already have all the above info re marriages and Jas' snr.

Did you purchase the 1933 marriage cert as yet? You can download it as a pdf from https://online.justice.vic.gov.au/bdm/index-search?action=purchaseImage

I believe it is A$21

I assume his father is the James SIM who died in Geelong in 1941 and was buried at Geelong Eastern Cemetery 21/1/1941. No other SIM with him.

Hi Kerryn

The 1921 birth would make him only about 17 so I am thinking it is more likely to be one of these marriages in Victoria:

Digger - Marriage Index. Victoria 1921-1942

Hi Kerryn, I'm curious as to how you know the James Sim in Mildura is the correct man? I ask, as on the passenger record that I can see it just gives destination Port: Melbourne. Do you have a more complete record?

Hi
I am hoping someone can give me some ideas on how to look for James Sim

He was born 1904 in Lancashire
Parents were James Sim and Eleanor Bates
migrated to Australia on Osterley in 1923 Heading for Mildura. He travelled with his father James Sim but James senior settled in Geelong Vic, Aus
I found him on the Australian Electoral Roll in 1924 living at 97 Lime St Mildura and working as a labourer.
Can anyone see where he went from there? did he marry?
Thanks for any help I can get
Kerryn
