RE George Harrison.1829
After he left the RA 1873 he became a convict warder at Chatham prison.
Has anyone got any info on convict warders for that time. I have tried to trace prison warders records but so far no luck.

I assumed :-)

I think this is George Jr in 1851 probably

Name: George Harrison
Age: 17
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1834
Relation: Lodger
Gender: Male
Where born: Dronfield, Derbyshire, England
Civil Parish: Dronfield
Phillimore Ecclesiastical Parish Maps:
View related Ecclesiastical Parish
County/Island: Derbyshire
Registration district: Chesterfield

Charlotte Allen 56
Alfred Allen 25
Harriet Allen 21
Fanny Allen 18
George Harrison 17

there is no Alice Harrison death in Chesterfield registration district from 1837 to 1884, so the deaths must have been before registration

there is this possibility

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/VNTK-1P4

Name: George Harrison
Event Type: Burial
Event Date: 20 Aug 1833
Event Place: Dronfield, Dronfield, Derbyshire, England
Gender: Male
Age: 26
Birth Year (Estimated): 1807
GS Film number: 1041036

but I don't see a matching Alice death and there is no 'batch' to check in

and I'm not finding George Jr in 1841

there was also a typhus epidemic 1832-1834

You have put 'Dronberg' - presumably you mean Dronfield, or does Dronberg refer to a death overseas?

hello and welcome, George :-)

as you'll see if you browse a few threads here, it is a rare day indeed that anyone has info about others' ancestors

if you specify more exactly what you are looking for, someone may be able to help with the research

the only way to know their cause of death is to obtain their death certificates ... of course that depends on when 'that time' was as you have not said when they actually died ... if it was 1837 onward there would be a death certificate and you can find the particulars for ordering it at
http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl
if it was before 1831 you would need to find the parish burial record which might state the cause of death, although that is unusual, but sometimes it is noted if there was an epidemic (in my experience)

does 'any info' mean there is something else you are looking to find out about them ... their parents, etc?

Any info about George Harrison and Alice Wright parents of the above person. I wonder if they died in the cholera epidemic of that time.

thanks diy george
