Is that the correct spelling of his surname?

When and where was he born please

I've just found out that an ancestor was in the Royal Scots Greys when he got married in Scotland in 1895 he was based at Houndslow Barrack Midlesex and in 1900 when his son was born in Scotland, he was in South Africa
In 1901 his wife was living with her parents in Scotland under her maiden name with 2 sons

he was Private George Wight I think his number was 4034

I would be grateful if some one can point me in the right direction to find out what happened to him
