when would these children have been born? does 'early 1900s' mean before 1910, or sometime before 1930, or 1950 ... ?

it could be that the Turners that GlitterBaby posted bought the forge later ... but Minnie would have been too old to be having children then ... by 1911 she was 42 and had been marred 25 years

is it possible that their daughter Rhoda was the woman in question that your great-grandfather had children with?

she was 14 in 1901, would that match your great-grandfather's age at all?

They appear to have a daughter, Rhoda, in the 1901 census, age 14, but does not show with them in 1891?
