I am looking for any information about George Hockey bap: 7-12-1817 at Kilmington Devon, he was the son of William & Mary Hockey, all I know at the moment is he was still alive in September 1837 (he was a witness at his brothers marriage) |

This 1851 census might be worth looking into? |

Yes I have tried Free BMD without luck, I am wondering if he may show up on the 1861 census, Kilmington where he was born is listed under Axminster so the name of Exminster may have been entered by error. |

His brother was William Patterson Hockey b. 1811. the other Witness was his sister Mary Patterson Hockey b.1819. Ann Cardiff has found a possible death in 1860 at Axminster, so maybe Harriet remarried. |

So has Jacqueline got the wrong family in 1841 - William Hockey was still with his parents and no sign of a wife? |

Just for reference this is the marriage of William- note: no age given, or middle name for William. No middle name for witness, Mary (so could be Georges wife, or William's mother etc?) |

Flip- the 1841 census might be correct, as there's a death for a Hannah Hockey in Nov 1837. Perhaps she died a few weeks after being married?? |

Yes Hannah died one month after marring William on the 26-10-1837 (how sad) and William married Caroline 18-2-1851. |

I have checked the 1841 census for Devon on a Devon disc that I have and he is not in Devon at all, I am now wondering If he may have been in London at that time, can anyone check this please. |
