Have you tried to find his exact date of birth from free bmd, or looked for his parents, and possibly him, in the 1911 census? |

Thanks for the replies. Henry's parents marriage took place in Bombay in 1909 while his father was serving there in the army. The father's death took place in Bootle, Liverpool in 1937. I've been in touch with another member on this site who also has Henry in his tree but he has no info on Henry's death in WW2. |

I appreciate all the help and of course I've tried researching my ancestors before asking for help :-) I've had success checking WW1 documents (for other ancestors) in the past but I'm wondering for WW2 records if his parents where listed as the next of kin and where could one view this info? I've found several other siblings for Henry but am focusing on his demise at the moment. Thanks again for the help. |

Only the next of kin can apply for WW2 records, and they cost £30.00, unless the NOK is the man's widow |

Thanks for the info Jacqueline. I suppose that's the trouble with 'family' stories, hard to know whether they're true or not!!! I'll try a different approach on this one :-) |
