He was single when entering Australia - he was born in India but on the ships records he has his place of birth as Australia!.

I would love to know where he lived in Australia and when he died.

Sorry for being pedantic, but on the outgoing voyage it doesn't say he was BORN in Australia, it says Australia in response to "Country of which a citizen as shown on passport".

I would be mindful of this birth, just in case first names got reversed (as happens)

The outgoing passenger list confirms his dob 20/7/1909, which matches the baptism in Karachi - so I would be pretty sure the 1955 record is correct.

I think you have found him and his family - he must have married in Australia.
His father was in the British Army stationed in north India, now Pakistan. His mother Edith a sister of my grandfather.

One more question, would you have the address of where I could get his Death Cert or any clues as how I can trace his son Gerald.

I don't think Gerald is his son - to be eligible to vote in 1946 he must have been born 1925 or earlier....Douglas would have only been 14.

Added Gerald & Bessie were also at that address in 1943.

It may not be the Douglas you are looking for- as I found this which could be the Gerald living with Douglas in 1946 (perhaps Douglas Brother??):
