Hello I was wondering if anyone can help me? I have hit a wall with an Ancestor i am trying to research..
All i know is that his name is ROBERT LITTLE and he married a lady named
DORIS ALICE L MATON in 1933 in Portsmouth.

Some of the family say he was Irish, Some say he was older than her, but I think its all rumors.. Alot of them say I will struggle to find anything on him?!

If anyone can help with the small research It would be much appreciated.

Any idea when and where he died?

I can only Imagine that he died in Portsmouth/Hampshire. As Doris died in 1989 in Portsmouth and they were together till the end.

I have put his name in the Death records for Portsmouth and loads of ROBERT LITTLE names come up but because I dont know his date of birth I cant fix it on one name.

confused!!
:-)

Do you think that's most likely to be him?

Your best bet is a copy of the marriage cert

It will tell you how old he was, and the name etc of his father (if known)

If you want an accurate tree, it isn't a good idea to guess

You say they were together till the end.....whose end?

If you mean Doris's, he must have outlived her

Who registered her death?

Was she recorded as 'wife' or 'widow'?

Someone else has Doris in his tree on here

perhaps he'll know.

You could try contacting him

The birth info on freebmd leads me to the conclusion that Robert was probably married before he married Doris

Thank you for your help, Yes the family said he may have been married before Doris :-)

there seem to be quite a number of children to the marriage ... ah I see that the one I was looking at is in your tree so I assume they all are

(you must be in touch with any children who are living if you have permission to put them in your tree?)

http://www.192.com/atoz/people/leng/esther/po1/3465789229/

and that person is listed in the telephone directory

(you have the person that child married in your tree as well and I believe that person is also still living and on the electoral roll ... the person who has the various Littles in their tree at this site appears to be closely related to that person)

better to talk to people directly about their parents than to talk about them on the internet :-) ... unless they know nothing either ... but surely a child would know when their father died ?
