How can I find a guernsey birth? Father Edward and Emma the mother. They moved to Hereford where Edward was born in 1830.

Is it just me? I can't understand. You're looking for birth of Alfred 1874 in Guernsey, parents moved to Hereford where father Edward was born 1830?

OK, I understand, Alfred was born Guernsey but moved to Hereford where his father Edward was born.

Sorry margee for confusing message! And yes, this is the family. Edward Mumford/Momford/monford (all spellings of name) was born in Hereford. Moved to Tipton and married an Esther brooks.
The family dropped off radar until 1891 when Edward has remarried Emma and had a son Alfred.
Edward died in 1911
Alfred as you found married Emily in 1905
But mainly I was hoping someone would help locate the birth or is it out of reach?

Yes, I've got Alfred but not Edward although Edward dies in 1911 in Newport, Monmouthshire.

JBG, on yor tree on Ancestry you say that Edward was born 1830 but when he married in 1855 you say that he and Esther were both minors. At age 25?

That is what it said on his marriage certificate of which I have a copy. It is the correct Edward as he has his half brother James Cooke was living with him in Tipton.

Perhaps Esther was only 16 and as he was 25 perhaps her father wouldn't have approved?
