Yes Jacqueline, but it was irrelevant when there are incoming lists in other countries which may help.

Wow they had 9 children together in Geelong!

Both are buried at Geelong Eastern Cemetery (COE). Mercy died in 1921 and Edward in 1904. Let me know if you'd like death reg details. I can't see his arrival I'm afraid.

ROWDEN.—On 4th February, 1904, at his residence, Percy-street, Chilwell, Geelong, Edward John Rowden, aged 82 years. Dearly beloved husband of Mercy Stoneham Rowden and beloved father of John and Charles Rowden, of West Australia, and Alfred Rowden, of New Zealand.

Saturday 18 February 1905
ROWDEN.-In loving remembrance of our dearly beloved father, Edward John Rowden, who departed this life at Percy-street, Chilwell, Geelong, February 4th, 1904, aged 80 years.
-Inserted by his loving Sons, John Rowden, of Perth, W.A.; Charles Firth Rowden, of Norsemen Goldfields, W.A.

I have looked a her birth cert and am very sorry her mothers name should have been cathrine stoneham so that was where mercys middle name came from

I have found a tree on ancestry with sources so they met ozz

In your original post you have her parents as Charlotte and Charles- did you mean Catherine and Charles?

Jacqueline, surely that's only the UK outgoing passenger lists that start at 1890? Other countries have incoming passenger lists from much, much earlier.

mercy stoneham knight and Edward john rowden
both born in st pancras London I do not think they travelled together

Edward married maria ann winter born 1832 in st pancras they married 1849and had serveral children

the story goes that he went to ozz and maria was to follow but she changed her mind and stayed in London and remarried I to a brinnie ( I have the info )

Edward and mercy married in ozz in 1866 geelong Victoria
her parents were Charles and caraline

also I think both second marrages could have been bigamass
