he used the name ernest or ernest m thompson

he was married to jean entwistle 1945 she died he re married Barbara gill 1979

i don't have a bithday i would guess he was born 1920s

he lived in leeds yorkshire but had a newcastle ascent

Are you sure he's passed away?? There is a Maitland E Thompson on 2004 electoral register

Well depending how much you want to follow him up you may have to get one of the marriage certs for his age and fathers name

hes defo past he would of been in his 80s 70s when he died ok than

If he passed after 2005/6 then his death wont be online

-If you're sure he died in Leeds- I think he's listed on electoral roll at an address in Leeds from 2003-2009, with his wife Barbara. He's listed as Ernest M Thompson. (let me know if you want details from electoral register and I'll pm them)

Deaths on Ancestry are only listed up to 2007- his death certificate would have provided his date of birth, but as his death was after this date we can't access the info.

I would follow Shirley's advice and order his marriage certificate (from GRO)- which is very easy to do and can be ordered on-line at http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/default.asp . As Shirley has said this will provide his age, occupation and father's name and occupation.
