Mary Sanderson Married James Cumpsty in 1859. She appears to have had an illegitimate daughter Ellen Sanderson in 1852. There are children with James after marriage.
I am having trouble finding details of the previous marriage of James Cumpsty, born about 1822. On the 1871 Census he has children:- John, Jane and Elizabeth that appear to have been from a previous mother. I cannot find him in the 1861 Census.
Please could anybody find details of his previous marriage, wife's maiden name e.t.c.

I think Elizabeth was the last child born to the first marriage, her birth registered in 1855 (mmn Sanderson), the first Mary died in 1856 age 31 in the sub registration district of Kirkham.

Check out LancsBMD, but some of the children have been recorded as Cumpstey so use soundex search:
