Looking for details of a marriage shown on Free BMD - Huddersfield 1867 September 1/4, 9a , 484. of Green Senior & Mary Lodge.

Suspect this might be a non conformist Chapel. Is it possible to view the actual entry on line anywhere? Or any of these records?

I am interested in how the names are signed. and who were the witnesses etc.

Thank you

you already have a posting on these people Margaret - not a good idea to start another thread - research more than likely will be repeated

Hi Margaret,

As Ann says it's as well just to keep to one thread. I will copy this over for others to see.

However, I have found this in The Huddersfield Chronicle and West Yorkshire Advertiser for Saturday, 14 September 1867 under Marriages

On the 11th inst., at the Registry Office, John Street, Mr Green Senior to Miss Mary Lodge, both of Cumberworth.

So this begs the question did they ever marry in a Church?

There are marriage announcements for couples married in Wesleyan Methodist Chapels in this article.

Ah well--- that might be the case.

I think in those days the Registrar went to all RC/ Jewish/ non conformists weddings. Only the C of E parish church being licensed to marry people.

But I am not sure on the dates for that ruling .

Thank you

:-)
