The National Archives has record cards for POW's of the Japanese. Not online though - you would have to go there or get someone to go for you. |

Thank you MarieCeleste. I am glad I asked for help first before parting with any money, they gave the impression there would be much more information! Thank you for looking the record up for me it is much appreciated. |

They make people think they have more than all the other sites. |

I agree MC - I took out a 1 month membership to look for something and there was hardly any info on anything I looked at - a total waste of money ! |

Trish, this is the full extent of the record on Forces War Records (which I wouldn't recommend to anyone) |

Looking further at Ancestry, they don't appear to include anything about Japanese POW's |

I don't think POW records are very comprehensive. |

MarieCeleste has a subscription for that site, and would probably do a lookup. If she doesn't see the thread I'll send her a PM later today. |

I do not think you will find WW2 records online. you will need to send off for them cost about £30 I believe |

Does anyone have membership to Forces War Records? I am looking for the record for Herbert Fennell who was held as a POW in Japan. I would be very grateful if someone could look his record up for me. |
