The census entries do not give any real clues because he did not come from a Catholic family although he could have converted. Also he was a miner in 1881.

I wonder where he was in 1891?

I am looking for Robert Hill b.1864 Hammerwich or Newtown Staffordshire.I cannot find him after the 1881 census.
During WWW2 the family in Hammerwich was contacted by someone in the Canadian Army saying that they were a member of the Hill family.
I think perhaps that they may be descended from Robert Hill.. I have traced the families of all his brothers and none left the country.
Could anyone please look at Canadian Records for me please?
