If there is only one child's birth on LancsBMd, then that's presumably all they had.

have you looked at LancsOPC?

I'm puzzled as to why you haven't simply looked at the 1871 and 1881 censuses

I have only found

Ethel 1883
Gertrude 1884
Harold 1886 was actually born and died in my home town of Southport.

Have you managed to trace the couple through on the census?

This is the only one which comes up on Ancestry - only one child living at home, and that's Nathan

Ellen's father Roger who's sister Jane 1786 married John Yates had a son William c1818 who's daughter Sarah 1846 is my 2 x great grandmother

1871 and 1881 are on familysearch

Richard Mason 1823 m. Ellen Appleton in 1855 in Wigan

Using Lancs freebmd I have only been able to find a child Nathan in 1858. Anyone else able to confirm I am on the right tracks or have I missed any further children.
