Janet, I wonder if it might be worth getting the marriage cert for your grandparents, if you don't already have it, with a view to seeing if you can find deaths for them once you know when they were born. You might also be able to track down other relatives with the extra info it will give you

That might sound a bit odd, but the informant for most deaths is a relative, and this approach has proved to be successful in the past - I speak from experience!

with reference to the Aunty I am trying to find Josephine Clara. As far as I know she was not adopted but they had different fathers but my dad was given the name Spencer on his birth certificate. It seems a little complicated but the strange thing is that my dads birth mother and Josephine were at my dads adopted sisters wedding and are in the wedding picture along with a little boy aged about 7 who is there brother !! I am in the process of trying to find if Josephine got married and have come across a Josephine Clara who married a smith but I have not had that confirmed,All the details mentioned above are correct and I have the certificates to prove those findings . My father very sadly died in February.

Hi Jan

I have edited.........I meant to say Josephine not Janet!

PricklyHolly, I think Janet might have put 'nee' in error, and actually means Josephine's mother's name (see births above)

In short she is trying to find her father's sister and family.

I thin so anyway!

Janet, do you have any reason to suppose she was adopted also?

Apart from Josephine's birth........do you have any other details about her?

You say (Nee) Harris........does that mean you know who Josephine married?

Can I also just ask this - you have pit Josephine Clara in your heading, but I am not sure who this refers to?

Janet. first of all, welcome to the boards.
You have posted under 'find ancestors', but I am wondering if you are actually trying to find living relatives?
First thing to do is check other members' trees, just in case they have this family - use search box above.
It would be helpful if you gave an idea of when and where all this took place.

Hello Janet - welcome to the boards :-)

You have to supply some relevant dates and a location - also if these are living people, it would be better posting on "Find Living Relatives"
