Hi Polly - thank you - sorry but that is what I am hoping to find out!

I've just found the burial but my ancestor Elizabeth Smith married John Scott in 1788 in Houghton le Spring - trying to confirm is this is them!

Their son, John, baptised in 1788 in Pittington is my ggggg granddad.

He later moved to Brignall, Yorkshire.

Other than John born 1788, they had two other children:

George born 1790

Ann born 1798

To confirm, we really need that 1851 Census - sadly had a few ancestors, mainly old widows who are missing from that census. So frustrating as it obviously gives the birth place!
