Ignore the children with MMN Bleasdale, this looks like the baptism of the Richard born 1871:

Name:Richard Woan
Baptism Date:28 May 1871
Parish:Preston, St Saviour, Lancashire, England
Father:James Woan
Mother:Margaret Woan

There is a marriage in 1849 for James Woan and Margaret Bleasdale.

Lancashire bmd has MMN recorded for Preston for this period.

The following children are listed with MMN Stead:

Edward, 1877
James, 1880
Elizabeth Matilda, 1882
William, 1885
Frederick 1889

EDIT: ignore the ones following - see post below.

According to the 1901 census, Richard was born 1870 (not 1867 as in your OP).
There is only one Richard Woan (using phonetic spelling) born in Lancashire between 1866 and 1871:

Births Jun 1871

WOAN Richard Preston 8e 567

This is the Lancs bmd entry:

WOAN Richard Preston Preston BLEASDALE

Where does the Beardsworth as Elizabeth's birth name come from?

There is a Joseph (Woane) b 1866 MMN Bleasdale and
John b 1869 MMN Bleasdale.

The only reason I can think of is that there were only 2 children at home.

EDIT

Also it was signed by the daughter in law so perhaps she filled it in

But why does she say she's only had 2 children?

According to 1891 census, the children were born Blackburn - but looking there hasn't helped either!!

Yes Margee, that's what I thought originally but in 1911 her middle name is Mattie I think which is short for Matilda and that's the 1866 one's full name and the age and place of birth are the same as 1891/1901. I have birth records for 4 children too.

On the 1911 census it states he was born 1844 Blackburn Lancashire.

Mistranscribed in 1861

The 1911 census says that they've been married 36 years. From my calculations that would be 1875.

It also says that Elizabeth had only had 2 children.

A different Elizabeth?

I'm looking for Edward Woan and his family in the 1871 and 1881 census. I have Edward with his parents in the 1871 census but without his family. He married Elizabeth Stead in 1866 (she was born Elizabeth Matilda Beardsworth in 1845). They had a son Richard born 1867 but the rest of their family wasn't born until a few years later. I've posted the 1901 census for them below in case anyone wants to refer to it.

1901 England, Wales & Scotland Census Transcription

Edward Woan Son Single Male 23 1878 Cotton Spinner Preston, Lancashire
Elizabeth Woan Daughter Single Female 19 1882 Cotton Card Room Hand Preston, Lancashire
Ellen Woan Daughter Single Female 14 1887 Cotton Weaver Preston, Lancashire

I want to know where they were in 1871 and 1881, I've tried looking just be first name but still can't find them so need help.

Thanks
