John, this is the electoral roll listing for Stan up to 2010

so it seems likely he actually died in 2009 or 2010 ... the deaths index on line ends in 2007 and it does not show a death for him in or around 2005

the electoral roll listing shows his wife Mary but she is listed only to 2003

I wonder whether this was her death and Hunter was her own surname (or a married surname maybe)

there is a second Mary Houghton death in Bradford, in 2004, she was born in 1927

there is a marriage for the name Stanley Houghton in 1949 in Bradford ... as jax said you can find it at FreeBMD at the link she gave

it is to an Elsie who gave her surname as Houghton but also two other surnames, suggesting she was previously married but was living with her new partner as husband and wife before they married

(it is not up to date yet so the Mary Hunter Houghton death can't be found there now)

can you say exactly what it is you would like to learn about him? just his ancestors for a tree?

if you use the 'Search All Member Trees' function here ... hover your mouse over 'Search' in the upper right corner at the top of this page and you will see that link ... and search for Stanley Houghton born 1922, you will find that someone has Stanley Houghton born 1922 in Leek in their tree

that person's surname suggests they are related so if you click on 'More Info' beside their name, you can send a message to ask about Stan's family

... ah ... I was right about the Elsie marriage ... the person whose tree it is, is related to the Elsie who married Stanley Houghton as well ... Elsie was older than Stan and possibly died in 1955

I dont mean anything by scan an click...it was copied and pasted from freebmd where you could find these births.....I was using my tablet and just posting is hard enough without trying to edit out the rubbish

he was b 1922 at leek Staffordshire ,I don't know who his dad was but his mums maiden name is Peckham. stan was a fireman and a policeman in Bradford from about 1939 ish he died Shipley[Bradford] about 2005 ?? his wife was mary don't know her birth or death or even if they were marr, hope you guys can help.
