While my grand father was serving in the Irish Army, he was arrested and charged with bigamy on July 9th 1925 . He was court-martialed and passed over to the civil courts for sentencing .
He appeared in court on the 27th July 1925 and was sentenced to 15 months hard labour.
My grandparents were married in 1923 and we don't know if he was already married or if he got married again later,.
Would the courts have records of his first wife and where they married.
I am trying to find information about this, either through the court records or even local newspapers.
Does anyone have any ideas where i might find this information.

My thoughts would be the Local Papers

This type of court case would have been just the thing they would report.

Local Papers used to thrive on court cases.

So I would check the main Dublin papers of the day, and if he was from outside of Dublin, then the local paper for the area he came from.
