I am trying to find Fanny's birth records. I have her marriage certificate in 1906 and this shows she is aged 23 and her father is called Frederick Jennings and deceased. On a census of .1911 she is married to John Green.andi know this is true and it shows her birthplace as Wincanton, Somerset.
Other trees show their records of Georgina Jennings born in workhouse at Wincanton in 1879 but I'm getting confused. They have her mother as Sarah Lockett Jennings daughter of Orlando Jennings but I can find no marriage to a Frederick.
Any help is appreciated, thank you

I think you have to buy the birth certificate that brummiejan posted ........
that's the only way you will get at the truth.
the truth is not always told re father's name and / or occupation on marriage certificates ................... either deliberately or because the truth is not known.

Thank you all so much. As there seems to be no birth record of Fanny and after many hours of searching, I am going to give up looking. I think the Georgina b 1878 in Wincanton shown on 1881 Census is possibly correct even though birthdates are a bit different. She may have dropped her first name of Fanny as there was another inmate called Fanny at that time in the workhouse. I am now reaching the conclusion that she was illegitimate, possibly of Sarah Jennings aged 18 or maybe even Frederick aged 14. perhaps she considered this Frederick as a father figure and that's why she put his name on marriage cert. Thanks again everyone

Orlando had a brother Frederick also, Fanny Georgina's uncle, perhaps he was the Frederick named on the the marriage cert if it was the name she remembered?

Taunton Courier, and Western Advertiser 26 June 1895
WINCANTON PETTY SESSIONS A BAD BEGINNING- A girl inmate of the workhouse, named Georgina Jennings, was charged with refusing to do work allotted to her on the previous Saturday- The Matron (Mrs Barnes) and the cook (Mrs Dimmock) spoke to the girl's refusal to clean windows when requested to do so. The Matron added that the girl had given a great deal of trouble, and on account of her bad behaviour had had to leave five situations.- The Chairman remarked that as a member of the Board of Guardians he knew the girl had been lectured several times for her bad behaviour.- She could offer no excuse for her conduct, and the bench thought it best she should be sent to gaol for seven days hard labour.

Gwendoline ..................
Fanny probably never knew her father, may be she assumed that one of the two Frederick's was her father, maybe she just decided to put that name on the marriage because "it looked better for the in-laws"
But if Sarah is her mother .................. then you do knwo that orlando and mary are her grandparents.
I still think you have to buy that birth certificate!

a Public Family Tree on ancestry has the following information on Fanny ....... but no documentation as to how she knows the exact date
Fanny Georgina Jennings Birth 05 Nov 1879 in Union Workhouse, Wincanton, Somerset,
IF this is true .............. then that Birth Registration that was posted above probably is the correct one.
Don't forget ..................... the name of babies could be added to or even changed at baptism ............... and the Workhouse would probably have insisted on babies being baptised.
So she could have been registered as Georgina ............. and the Fanny added at baptism
