Find Ancestors

Hi I'm trying to figure out the situation of my ancestor Phoebe Lewis. Her parents are Levi and Margaret Lewis, she married Ebenezer Protheroe in 1865 and had 3 children Cathrine, James and Eleazer. Sadly Ebenezer dies in 1870 when the youngest child isn't even 1 year old. After that everyone seems to split up and I'm finding it hard putting the pieces together.

Is there anyway of finding out who it was that died?

Just one this about Pheobe's parents, I think it's in the 1881 census, it lists Phoebe living with them and a lot of children. All the children are listed as 'Lewis' but one thing surprise me that she is listed as Lewis again. Is this a mistake or has she had a lot of children out of we'd lock or has she married a Lewis?
