Thanks for keeping at this ... it is most confusing. I'm just looking at the last post of Margee and Gins. If Catherine Eliza's surname is Stull then how does Henry Huggard Oliver get Stull added to his name? I've noticed a few times on references I've seen for other names that sometimes the maiden name of the spouse is added right after the husband's name, with no comma. Do you think this could've been the case here?

Hi Yvonne

I would guess that Catherine & Henry were related in some way, possible cousins?

I'm trying to make sense of it all too- this is what I can make out on the Stulls.

Annie Cullen Oliver b1841, daughter of Henry H Oliver and Catherine ?, married George W Stull in 1864. Annie and George had children- Henry H O Stull (b1868) and Frederick William Stull (b1866)

Henry H O Stull born 1868, the son of Annie Cullen Oliver and George W Stull, married Catherine Eliza (Katherina) Stull (most likely a cousin?). They had lots of children, but sadly most died young (most listed on familysearch)-
Henry H O Stull (b1897 d 1898),
Annie Georgina Stull (b & d 1899),
Frederica Ann Kathleen Stull (b1900).
Isabel Sarah Stull (b1902 d1906),
Joyce Wilma Stull (b & d 1904),
Laura Madeline Stull (b1907),
Emma Pauline Stull (b & d 1909),
Alfred Cullen Stull (b1912)

Frederick William Stull b1866, son of Annie Cullen Oliver and George W Stull, married Nellie Shultz in 1899 and had children:
Annie Kathleen Stull (b1901)
Georgina Ellen Stull (b1902)
George Henry David Stull (b1905)

If this isn't correct let me know and I'll delete it- the last thing I want to do is confuse Yvonne more

Interestingly, siblings Annie Cullen Oliver (b1841 Ontario) and Henry H Oliver (born c1845 Ontario)- children of Henry H Oliver and Catherine ?, both give their origin as Irish on the 1871 Canadian Census.

Thanks Helen. Yes, the Irish connection is correct but I think it's another generation or two back from the Henry born in 1845. I'm not even thinking of going there yet. I still wonder about Annie Georgina though. On familysearch under the Ontario Births she is shown as born 25 Mar 1899 to Henry Huggard Oliver and Isabella Fairbourne and Annie is shown in 1911 census. Then we have Annie Georgina Stull born 6 Jan 1899 but died 25 March 1899, parents Henry Huggard Oliver Stull and Catherine E. Stull. The date of 25 March 1899 is very coincidental.

So, if I'm looking at this correctly, Henry Huggard Oliver b. 1844 and Annie Cullen Oliver b. 1841 are siblings. Henry married Hannah Bell, then Sarah Shaw. Henry & Hannah produced Henry Huggard Oliver b. 1871 who married Isabella Fairbourne and Henry & Sarah produced Annie Rose Howitt Oliver. Then we have Annie Cullen Oliver and she married George W. Stull and they produced, among others, Henry Huggard Oliver Stull. The Huggard name seems to be very popular but no idea where it came from. What I can't get my head around is the Annie Georgina situation mentioned above.

I think once you've put the information for Annie Cullen Oliver (and descendants) in your tree, it might be easier to understand. I suspect that Annie Georgina Oliver was named after Annie Georgina Stull.
