Would be grateful for any info out there on Florence Bennett Field. She is connected to Cyril Littlejohn (brothers William and Leslie) to whom she was married (?when) and had a child. She was born in Fulham it seems and died in 1965.

ce it would probably be better to add this to your Littlejohn thread? So that people have dates for Cyril and background.

looking at the other thread, Rambling Rose posted the 1911 census for Cyril

Cyril Littlejohn Boarder Single Male 21 1890 Engineer London Chelsea

also in the 1891 census

Cyril E Littlejohn Son Single Male 1 1890 - London

so he must be

Births Jun 1890
Littlejohn Cyril Ewart Brentford 3a 121

?

this is the only death that resembles him

Name: Cyril Littlejohn
Birth Date: abt 1889
Date of Registration: Dec 1934
Age at Death: 45

the opening post is confusing ...

was Florence born Florence Bennett Field? there is no birth for that name

was Bennett her birth name and Field a first married name?

there are no Littlejohn births with mother Field or Bennett that would fit

there is no Florence Littlejohn death in 1965

there are Florence Littlejohn deaths in 1963 and 1964 but both would be too young ... did she remarry? as Littlejohn?

Cyril Littlejohn born 1890 in London / Brentford / Chiswick is in four trees here at genesreunited

ah so that was him, so maybe Florence did remarry ... except first she would have had to be married to Cyril ... :-)

of course she might have 're'married as Littlejohn even if she was not married to Cyril

there is a Florence Littlejohn marriage to a Mr Hayward in Fulham in 1939 ... but no, the Hayward children had mother Littlejohn ...

maybe ce would come back and speak up a little

where did the info about Florence come from, how is it known she had a child ... ?

Sorry to have seemed so obscure. The info appeared on Mundia but Mundia is about (30 Sept) to be swallowed by Ancestry.Co.Uk and is off-line and difficult to use. Have only been able to get at half the tree that Florence is on. Hence the need for help. A child is marked on the direct line from Cyril and Florence with the caption "private" and the silhouette blanked out. Have done many searches for Florence Bennett Field and come up with nothing. No idea if F B were her given names or if the FB is the surname. Cyril L definitely married Cecilia Awdrey in 1921 - but was this after he'd parted from Florence or was he a bigamist? The HAYWARD marriage looks intriguing, even promising. Have just done a quick check on Free BMD and several Florence Haywards died in 1965. If Florence had been married to Cyril then she could have called herself Littlejohn on her remarriage. But unfortunately there is no recorded Littlejohn - F B Field marriage. But she could still have used his name even if the liaison wasn't formalised. Can't fit birth of Florence Ward in 1916 to all this however. And why is there no birth record of Florence B F???

If it's a tree on Mundia I would be very sceptical, they are only trees from Ancestry, and a good half of them are fantasy.

The tree from Anc' is unsourced

also it has only 5 of the Littlejohn children, and has no father, just Ellen married to Ellen :-|

aiyeeeee :-)

please always give the sources of 'information' ! :-)

if it's in somebody's online tree it could have come from anywhere, including the feverish mind of some total stranger to the tree owner

you have tried to contact the tree owner via Mundia or Ancestry - ?

the sum total of that tree is Ellen and her Littlejohn children ... looks like a botched job that got started and nothing more done with it

a couple of my family members have done similar things at Ancestry started a tree, made a hash of it and abandoned it ... I have a great-aunt shown as an aunt, and other odd oddments that will be left there in perpetuity, I fear :-)
