Find Ancestors

Unfortunately I have still not been able to find the birth of Priscilla Hicks born Scilly Isles in 1814 , her father is John Hicks a mariner. She doesn't seem to have existed before the 1841 census where she was married to James Bacon.

I can confirm there are loads of Hicks in The Isles of Scilly -so probably is Hicks - In fact I'm going there next week if you want anything asked about locally!

Thanks so much for all your posts, Ann. My friend for whom I am doing this lives in San Francisco so the American link seems to be correct. The John Hicks birth in the Scilly Isles looks very promising too.
It's a mystery how Priscilla came to be in Essex before her marriage. I suppose it's possible that James Bacon was in the Scilly Islands for some reason and met her there.
