His birth doesn't seem to be registered under Meiklem. Using surnames beginning Meikle, there are 4 James in Lanarkshire in 1890. A search for marriage for the Archibald brings up nothing but there is a possible for James in 1886. |

Did James marry or die in Scotland? If so, his the certs should name both his parents. |

This is the main site for Scotland - it has births, marriages and deaths; baptisms and marriages before civil registration started in 1855; all Scottish censuses and lots more. It is a pay to view site (ie you buy credits and use them to view records); you can view and download images of original entries much more cheaply than buying English & Welsh certs.. |
