Joseph Renwick HODGSON married Violet Olive POLLOCK (b. 1923) in 1948 (reg 23, Sussex district WA). Sadly, she died soon after in 1949 (from NLA Trove):

HODGSON: The Friends of Mr. Joseph Renwick Hodgson, farmer, of Waroona, are respectfully informed that the remains of his late dearly beloved wife, Violet Olive, will be interred in the Church of England portlon of the Waroona Cemetery at 3.30 o'clock THIS (Monday) AFTERNOON. The Cortege will move from the Anglican Church, Waroona, after a Service commencing at 3 o'clock.
Her death notices (http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article47641923) show he was known as Joe and she as Vie or Vi. There is also a notice 'to our sister-in-law' from Frank, Wilfred, John & Ivan. It appears that Wilfred, John & Ivan were siblings born here. Wilfred was born in 1923 (married Marion E CONGDON in 1949 in Perth and died in 2001 aged 77). John was born 1928 and Ivan in 1930. Ivan moved to Melbourne and was involved in the Transport Workers Union (TWU). There was also a daughter named Elizabeth A M (b. 1925) who married Norman McLACHLAN in 1947 or 1948 (she is also mentioned in several family/social notices; they lived in Yallingup).
Frank married in 1940 to Doreen Carrie NEILSEN (reg 185, Wellington district WA). She died in 2009 aged 87. No death found for Frank. Possible death for John in 1995 aged 66.
Joe remarried in Feb 1952 (see http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article148935224). Other notices show that Joe & his 2nd wife had a daughter born in Jan 1953 and a son born Aug 24, 1954.
