If the father WAS married to both mothers then you could look for the marriage of your ex-husband's parents and then look for another marriage for the father's name and see if you can find the birth of a boy using the father's surname and the other wife's maiden name.

If he wasn't married to the mother of the half brother then as Ricochet says it would be virtually impossible without the mother's name.

As it's the father they share, if he wasn't married to the child's mother, your chances are very limited, as the birth would almost certainly be registered in the mother's name.

Hi all.
Have just been told that there is a half brother to my ex husband think they share a father how would I go about finding records sensitively as the half brother is possibly still alive ? have no name just a surname which is one of the most common, have records for father will this help me
