I am searching for Mary Ellen Wedgwood (no ‘e’) on the 1901 census.
Her birth was registered at Liverpool 1Q 1891; she was born the previous December.
I have found her on the 1891 census with her family and also on the 1911 census, both in Liverpool.
She married the noted (1911) son, George Butterworth, late in 1911 (4Q 1911).
I have all their children’s birth information.

Try as I might, I have been unable to find Mary Ellen Wedgwood at all on the 1901 census when she would be 10 years of age - and presumably still at home with her parents John and Mary.
I have tried numerous variations of her first and last names - but I have yet to find her.
If anyone would like a challenge and can find Mary Ellen for me on 1901 census, I shall indeed be most grateful.

How about this one - Mother Mary and son George right age as per 1891. On the 1891 Mary Ellen is recorded as that and here in 1901 there is an Ellen of the right age but also a younger Mary???? Lots of Mary's! And of course that "e" that shouldn't be, but that shouldn't be a bar to it being the right lot.

You have surely found the young lady and I do appreciate it.
I did see this 1901 entry that has Mother Mary and Ellen and yet Mary once more.
However, I passed this family over as there is no Mary Ellen by which name she is always noted.
The included ‘e’ did not worry me as I also tried many searches and spellings.
If seems husband / father John has ‘left the building’ and I might look later for him.
It is Mary Ellen Wedgwood in whom I am interested before she married in 1911.
