The only other thing I can think of is that the birth date given is wrong. There is this birth in 1879:-

If this happened to be the birth it could be that the middle name given to Emma was a clue as to her father's name as illegitimate children were often given their father's name as a middle name.

I can't find a birth for an Emma Warnes in 1877 but there is this possible birth if Emma was a middle name:-

It may also be the case that her birth was never registered. There were no penalties for not registering a birth until 1875 and even after this date many births were still not registered.

I have an entry in the parish register at St Nicholas in Yarmouth for Emma Warnes born 28 April 1877 and Baptised 19 December 1879. Her mother is Martha Elizabeth Kerrison, and no father. I can't find an entry for a birth certificate on FreeBMD. Can anyone see if I'm doing something wrong in my search?
