Hi There

I am trying to find any children that Alice Stewart and Thomas McGeachy may have had. Thomas was born in 1888 and Alice Stewart around 1890. Born and married in Greenock, Renfrewshire.

Ricochet Report 21 Jul 2014 13:27

1911 census is only on Scotland's people as are bmd's

get credits for the site and look for births after the marriage

I assume you know when that took place?

or check whether anyone else on GR is researching them

As Ricochet suggests, you can buy credits on ScotlandsPeople, look for Alice & Thomas on 1911 census, and see if they had any children by then.

Otherwise, I'm afraid it's an impossible task.
For births in Scotland from 1855 onwards, you can't factor in the mother's maiden name, and McGeachy (or variant spelling) is a fairly common name in the Glasgow area.
From 1909 to 1920 there were 46 McGeachy (or variant) births in Greenock alone, and no way to find out who the parents were except by buying every birth cert - obviously impractical.
