Harry Alfred Harper born 20 Dec 1860 at Cockfield married Mary Ann Louisa Bere in April 1890. Children of the marriage: Alfred Edmund born Oct 1890, Harry Charles b. Feb 1892, Lilian Maud, b. Dec 1893, and Owen George b. Sept 1897 all born in Barking, Essex. Haven't anything on Harry Alfred since Mary Ann Louisa's death in 1899, when he was working at Becton Gasworks. Owen George Harper was a 4 year old on the 1901 census at the Romford Union Workhouse and Lilian Maud was in service on the 1911 census. Can't find anything on these 3 since those dates. Anyone out there who can help???.

Did he die in the second Boer War (1899–1902)

I do think he may have been called Henry and that information on the 1861 census fits well with him.
Thank you very much.

Gins,
I have wondered if he re-enlisted, as he was in the army for quite a few years till his marriage.
