Family Tree Saga

I was looking for a missing sister ' of my Gt Gt Grandmother (long story) who went to America' in 1860's. Story was two orphans were brought up by two uncles and told to go their own ways when they reached 16, with 100 quid (another story there). Mum told me about the story that had been passed down over the years.

Found her finally on Monday after four years scathing, she the sister of said GG Gradma (Margaret Motherwell) married a Park and emigrated to MY then changed their name to Parker (now that had the potential to confuse) - they went to a small town in Michigan where the family is known well today. Story is two orphans were brought up by two uncles and told to go their own ways with 100 quid. No smoke without fire as actually think it happened.

I have been a pain in the arse - check my posts - of which there are many. Four year obtuse searching - looking for relatives of relatives of relatives - of which i have found many. Approach was to look for relatives who had descendants who may have had some of the oral history. Everyone i found knew no more than me.

What have i found

Some really nice people
Related to man from uncle guy - Scottish one
Bigamist in the family - in Toronto (that said 1917)
Not talked about relative who was admitted to an asylum in 1880 (and we got the papers from the local health Board last year within 3 days of asking - how amazing is that)
Lady my age who works in a secret background checking company - who we tracked down and rang the company for her (or Mum did)
Lot's of people my mum's age who are now emailing my Mum about life in general not just family tree

We were mocked at by the rest of the family - but we've done it!!!!!

On to next challenge - better than doing jigsaws
