I searched the parish birth records, having found what I was looking for I requested a view of original transcription (paying by credit). However the record was not shown on the 1st viewing page so I clicked for next page and was again charged credits. The record was not on this page either but to go further would prove too expensive, are the charges correct or was I doing something wrong?

Hello Thora, I'm pleased you have found your way back again.

I sent a message to Thora asking for a few more details - she is looking for information on Richard Wyers who married Frances Carew Betts in 1825 in Swansea.

Again thank you Cynthia, I must apologise for wasting your time as I already have this information. I have caused confusion it I info prior to 1837 for Richard as I cannot find his parents names or his parish record birth, nor any parish records for Frances or her mother - as I particularly want to also trace the Carew line (presumably France's mother's name.

ArgyllGran Report 3 Jul 2014 16:18

These will be the baptisms of Frances and her sisters. Their father's name was John, but no name is listed for their mother. (From FamilySearch)

ArgyllGran Report 3 Jul 2014 16:23

Just a guess, but based on timescale, names and place:

John Betts
Wales, Glamorgan Parish Registers, 1558-1900

Name: John Betts
Event Type: Marriage
Event Date: 1804
Event Place: Llanrhidian, Glamorgan, Wales
Spouse's Name: Frances Phillips

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 3 Jul 2014 16:29

If the above marriage is correct, here's rather more of a wild guess at Frances Phillips's baptism:

Fanny Philips
Wales, Glamorgan Parish Registers, 1558-1900
Name: Fanny Philips
Event Type: Baptism
Event Date: 1779
Event Place: Llanrhidian, Glamorgan, Wales
Father's Name: John
Mother's Name: Prudence

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 3 Jul 2014 16:31

Well, not so wild after all, as here's the baptism of her brother, including the name Carew:

Thomas Carew Philips

Wales, Glamorgan Parish Registers, 1558-1900

baptism: 1784 Llanrhidian, Glamorgan, Wales

father: John
mother: Prudence

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 3 Jul 2014 16:41

Possibly Prudence's death, assuming Thomas Carew Philips wasn't christened until he was two:

Prudence Philip
Wales, Glamorgan Parish Registers, 1558-1900
Name: Prudence Philip
Event Type: Burial
Event Date: 1782
Event Place: Llanrhidian, Glamorgan, Wales

I can't believe the results you have all managed to come up with! I have spent many hours on this particular "brick". I thought I had tried all research avenues so what did I miss (doh) ? Thanks to you all I now have more links but realise that to go further back will be nigh impossible. Will now have to concentrate on the "WYERS" line.
Sincere gratitude to the help you have given. Thora

Thank you Argyle Gran,
Logically (gleaned from your latest) I think The marriage of Thomas in June 1939 could be the son of Thomas db 1784 dd 1827
I will see what my other subscribed site comes up with now that I have received such terrific response and clues from yourself and Cynthia.

Thank you Chris, I am getting a bit "bogged down" with Phillips,Carew,Betts so will give them a rest for now. Incidentally I tried cross checking all the above info on my other site and could not find any parish records for them despite using locations of : Glamorgan. Glamorganshire. Monmouthshire. Swanse. Llanrhidian. Loughor. Wales.
Same goes for the Wyers side after searching all possibilities.
