I can not find a birth entry in the registers for Emilie Becker born about 1903 Paddington, London. She appears on the 1911 census with father George Becker and mother Helen Becker nee Williams, but that all i can find. No marriage or death for he. The trail goes cold. |

If you don't have a birth how do you know her mother's maiden name was Williams? |

Since George and Helen only had one child in 9 years, perhaps she was adopted, and born with a different name. |

I notice on the image of the 1911 census it is the wife Helen who has completed the return (it's signed H Becker). Could she possibly have got her husband's middle name wrong? |

I was thinking that maybe Emilie was Helen's child to another marriage, or her illegitimate child, and the couple lied about how long they had been married on the 1911 census, if indeed they were married? |

This looks to be George in 1901:- |

Unfortunately none of the earlier census records show his middle name to confirm, or not:- |

Hello Donna, if you can tell us how you connected to Emilie Becker in the first place then that might give us a steer as to how to help. |

My grandmother was the other woman so to speak and met George Albert Becker around 1919/1920. Together they had several children and then George died in 1929. They never married which lead me to believe that George was already married. I checked the census and marriage records and yes the 1911 census is correct. That is him. He was a cabinet maker and the electrol registers have him living at various addresses that are the same addresses that are on his children's birth certs. The marriage to Helen Williams must be him. Thought it would have been very simple to find the birth of his daughter Emilie, but thought wrong. |
