Thanks Ricochet yes, I am aware of that and it doesn't work.
And in regards to your second comment, true but then the ever changing nature of the net means new records are always available and likewise, the posts above cover four generations of people sharing the same name to some degree. From reading all of those posts, I'm not aware of ANY repetition.
Thank you.

If you use advanced search, and put in the name being researched....plus your name as author, all the connected threads will show up
And if you've posted before, no doubt people have used time and resources already on this family

Thank you ArgyllGran - first thank you for posting those links but not all of them pertain to what I am asking for here, just for clarity. I've looked into numerous cousins of ancestors etc, hence the separate threads.
With that, the search facility really doesn't work when looking for those threads. And looking through all of my threads would take far too long.

For future reference: you can always find your earlier threads by clicking on "My Threads" in the "Tools" menu to the left side of this page, then on "My threads - started" at the top of the resulting list of threads to which you have contributed.

Hi there,
I am a little concerned that I may have gone wrong on my family tree, so curious to have other opinions.
There have been other threads on this family, a VERY long time ago (not including the Hollies related one), but this is a compilation of all of these people. I have tried to search for those threads using the name Heathcock but they seem to appear! No idea why. If someone else can find them, please include here. If not, please see what you think of this:
My ggg granddad was John Heathcock (1830-1886). He died in Middlesbrough in 1886 aged 56 and in 1881, 1871 (Middlesbrough), 1861 (Chesterfield), 1851 (Dudley with his widowed mother) he states his place of birth as being Dudley. From the 1851, I found this in 1841: 1841 England Census about John Hathcock Name: John Hathcock [John Heathcock]
Age: 9 Estimated birth year: abt 1832 Gender: Male Where born: Worcestershire, England Civil Parish: Dudley Hundred: Halfshire (Lower Division) County/Island: Worcestershire Country: England Street address:
Occupation: View image
Registration district: Dudley Sub-registration district: Dudley Neighbors: View others on page
Piece: 1196 Book: 5 Folio: 35 Page Number: 13 Household Members: Name Age Mary Hathcock 45 Thomas Hathcock 20 Joseph Hathcock 17 John Hathcock 9
John Heathcock married Eliza Brett in Rowley Regis in 1852 and states he father as being William Heathcock, a MASON. John was living in Tividale, and his father isn’t recorded as being deceased. There is an appropriate baptism in Dudley in October 1830 for a John Heathcock, son of William and Mary a labourer. Other children of this couple include:
Sarah Heathcock (1804-1809) Betsey Heathcock (1806-????) Nancy Heathcock (1811-1812) Sarah Heathcock (1813-1874 – father described on marriage as a ‘Labourer’) Rosanna Heathcock (bap 14 May 1815-1827) Thomas Heathcock (bap 17 Dec 1815-1873 – father described on marriage as a ‘Labourer’) Mary Heathcock (bap 12 April 1818-????) Joseph Heathcock (bap 4 Oct 1818-1885 – father described on marriage as a ‘Bricklayer’) Eliza Heathcock (1821-1822) Ann Heathcock (1822-1869 – father described on marriage as a ‘Labourer’) Samuel Heathcock (1825-????) William Heathcock (1827-1829) John Heathcock (1830-1886) Prudence Heathcock (1833-????) Of these possible siblings, John (1830-1886), Thomas (1815-1873) and some children of Joseph (1818-1885) all moved to Middlesbrough and lived/died there.
Now, I think it would be fair to assume that there are at least TWO families here, due to the overlapping baptism dates. With this, it get’s even more confusing. The address given in 1841 is Grey Stone Stone Street, and William, the father seems to have died in 1837 aged 48 and is buried in Dudley. There is a baptism for William in Dudley in 1789, to Joseph and Prudence Fullwood and he died in 1838 aged 72 in Grey Stone Street. Also, William (1789-1837) had it would appear, children named Joseph and Prudence. His wife Mary died in 1867 and William is described as a ‘COLLIERY LABOURER’, so yet another occupation! Bizarely (and there was a thread on GR recently about this), Mary’s death was registered by Sarah Hollies. I suspected she was the daughter born 1813, so looked into a marriage and found one in 1839 for an Edward Hollies/Sarah Millard. Before this, I bought a certificate for her daughter Hannah born 1850 and her mother is described as ‘Sarah Hollies, late Millard, formerly Heathcock’. Edward Hollies registered the birth. However, the HOLLIES-MILLWARD marriage in Sedgley on 11 March 1839 shows: Edward Hollies, Full age, Bachelor, Miner of Sedgley, father Edward Hollies, Labourer Sarah Millward, Full age, Spinster of Sedgley, father William Millward, Labourer Signed Edward Hollies, Sarah Millward ‘x’ mark, Thomas Heathcock, Sarah Vanes ‘x’ mark
There are also TWO possible marriages for the children born in Dudley:
William Hathcock England Marriages, 1538–1973 marriage: 27 November 1808 Saint Thomas,Dudley,Worcester,England spouse: Mary Robinson
OR
William Heathcock England Marriages, 1538–1973 marriage: 9 January 1809 St. Mary'S, Kingswinford, Stafford, England spouse: Mary Thomas
HOWEVER, as you can see, these marriages are at least four years after the first child was baptised in Dudley!
So what do people think? 1) How do I separate the children into their appropriate families? 2) How do I ascertain which married couples are the parents of these children? 3) Was it possible for parents to be baptising children BEFORE they married, all with in the same parish? 4) What on earth is going with Sarah HEATHCOCK/MILLARD/HOLLIES?
With thanks and apologies in case CERTAIN aspects of this are duplicated but I can't seem to find those other threads.
Best wishes,
Peter
