Hi there,

looking on a bit of advice on a place ... my relative died in Bradley, Sedgley, Staffordshire in December 1884 and is buried in nearby Coseley. In the parish register this person's abode is described as 'Ash Direct, Daisy Bank'. I'm interested in finding out where this is in relation to Bradley, and to see if I am reading the abode from the parish register correctly. It definitely says:

Ash ..., Daisy Bank ... and I like the word after 'Ash' is direct.

Thank you for any advice, as a google search of that address hasn't seem to thrown anything up.

What is his/her address on the 1881 census?

Daisy Bank seems to be a street name in ecclesiastic district of Cosely, town of Brierley, parish township of Sedgley.

look for them in 1881, which is free to a access on familysearch

Was the address on the death cert the same as in the PR?

Thank you Margee - I did find that there was a station called Daisy Bank that was closed in the 1960s.

In 1871, her address is 20 Dobmans Buildings, Bradley.

Quite a few people in the 1881 give Daisy Bank as a POB, so probably a district of Sedgley; there is an Ash Street in Sedgely - could it be Street and not Direct? Have you found the relative in 1881 for the address then?

Potty I think you might be right - silly me! It is 'street'.

Also, the 1881 census for this person is on another thread but I am rather concerned to say I can't find it, or other threads when looking for them. I wonder if they have been deleted? Certainly not by myself! I have had this problem in the past but then other members seem to find the said threads, so not sure what the problem is? Very frustrating!

Is the "missing" thread one you have started? If so, you should be able to find it by clicking on "My Threads" and then click on "My Threads - Started" in the box at the top of the list of threads.
