Thanks PricklyHolly - but where did Ezra go if both his parents died in 1820? He was just 3 years of age.
Oh - here's his mother - passing in 1834 at Elsecar. - Thanks Chris Ho.

Appreciated.

According to at least 12 trees on Ancestry (Although there does not appear to be any information to back the details up) both John and his wife Dianna died in 1820.

They only had one child Ezra.

A few snippets from some of the trees....

Looking for the parentage of John KAY who marr. 30 Dec 1816 Wath-upon-Dearne to Diana WALKER bapt. 30 Aug 1795 Rotherham, YKS ENG. The marriage is indexed as HAY. Also looking for issue other than first born son, Ezra KAY (1817) who left Liverpool just before the 1841 census and came to AUS. Did Diana (Dinah) die shortly after the birth of Ezra as I cannot locate her or any subsequent children.

I have searched census 1841-1861 without conclusive evidence. 1851 census has a John Kay aged 53 years at Eccesfield – I would tend to rule this guy out as 1851 minus 53 = birth year of 1897. So, 1897 to 1816 = 19 years of age at marriage to Diana Walker.

There is a John KAY, miner, at Elsecar in the 1841 census, in the household of Martha MOOR (is she a daughter perhaps). HO 107 1329 10

Any help so much appreciated.

To find out if they are in anyone's tree, click on Search at top of screen and then click on Search All Member Trees. It is very unlikely that anyone with them in their tree will see this post.
