I'm hoping someone can please help with locating the full military record for Edmund DRAKE born 1831 in Jersey, Channel Islands. Edmund died about Mar 1922 in Cardiff, Wales.

He apparently served in the Royal Navy enlisting when he was about 17 years old. I managed to find a record saying he was aboard the HMS Impregnable about 1849 and his military number on this record is 371199. I then went to the UK National Archives and have tried several ways to find his record with this number but no luck.

Appreciate any help you can give with this and if you need more info regarding Edmund's marriages, etc please let me know.

Regards
Tracy

2 more records for him, all with same dob. The top one is him re-enlisting in 1866, the second appears to be dated 1874.

Tracy, you're welcome. Just a little tip when searching National archives, service numbers can change so you have probably been too specific. All I did was search for his name, then on the left of the screen you can narrow down the search to what branch of military you want - you can also narrow down by date ranges (Which I didn't do as there weren't many to check through). Take a look and try again - and I think you'll find the records as I did.

This is the main page to start your search:

http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/

At the top right in the search box enter the name and from the drop-down box select search our records, then follow the instructions above!

Good luck :-D
