Hartmann Report 21 Jun 2014 23:34

I am trying to find my ancestor Mary Annie Lamb born in 1856. There seems to be two born on the same year, but from two different place in the uk at the time. There seems to be no record of her marriage. And there seems to be two sets of parents as well. Could this woman be a bigamist? Can I please have some help to sort out this mystery?

Please can you tell us how you worked back to her - name of spouse if you have it, children, location of the family?

Hello Hartmann, what makes you think she was a bigamist?

Where was she from? Who were the spouses?

If there was more than one lady of the same name then there would be more than one set of parents.

You really need to give us the information you've found if we're to help you.

I see you have Louis in your tree but surname spelt with double 'n' which seems to be used in the 1901 &1911 census's

Little confused about who was supposed to be a bigamist, as Mary Ann looks to be with Louis throughout the census Louis died in 1914

I have also found Mary Annie Lamb born in the same year in Ireland. Is Mary Annie a Lamb -Hartmann a bigamist? Thus us where my confusion comes from.

Sorry still not understanding where the bigamist comes into it

Mary Annie Lamb who married Louis Hartman/Hartmann in 1879 was with him until at least 1911 then he died in 1914 and Mary Ann Hartmann died in 1926

There are loads of Mary Ann Lamb's it is a very common name

This looks like her in 1861 going by her second name possibly because her mother was also Mary. She's also a servant in another household in 1871 going by the name Annie.
